Pinky Lilani is the founder and chairman of Women of the Future Awards and the Asian Women of Achievement Awards.  Born in India, Pinky moved to London as a young woman and began her cookery career in 1978.  Her compiled notes and adventures eventually became her first book, ‘Soul Magic’, which was followed by ‘Coriander makes the Difference’ in 2009. She has sat on the advisory boards of Global Diversity Practice, a provider of multi-disciplinary consultancy, and Sapphire Partners, the first executive search firm to actively promote women.  In 2017 she was a guest on Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs.

What do food, women, and kindness have in common? They all helped Pinky Lilani get to where she is today: a successful entrepreneur, author, consultant, charity patron.

Pinky gave a fascinating insight into her life, sharing lessons along the way about how food can help communicate and bridge divides. Although she wasn’t able to bring her signature wok to this virtual event, she made sure to do the next best thing, promptly inviting the entire virtual audience round for a plate of spicy Bombay potatoes whenever it is safe!

She also shared her ‘recipe for success’ including advice to “be courageous, be curious, be kind, and always keep learning”.
